Rotary toppers and grass toppers for pasture
A rotary topper, also called a grass topper or pasture topper, cuts grassland evenly and chops thistles and other unpalatable weeds, so they cannot spread. PERFECT – Van Wamel developed several types of toppers to top and clean grassland on livestock farms.
Even regrowth, high capacity
Thanks to a powerful V-belt drive with automatic belt tensioning, or a gearbox drive, the blades of PERFECT toppers have a very high impact force and capacity. Guide plates under the mower spread the cuttings across the full width.
- Even regrowth: cutting the grass evenly gives uniform regrowth on the whole field.
- Weed control: thistles and rough weeds are chopped before they spread.
- No growth inhibition: dung is spread out, so it does not limit grass growth locally.
Models with V-belt or gear drive
- LB series: the rotary topper with V-belt drive.
- LK series: extra robust rotary mower for heavy use.
- SV2-275: mower with super offset for mowing next to the tractor track.
Frequently asked questions about grass toppers
What is a rotary topper used for?
A rotary topper tops pasture after grazing. It cuts the remaining grass evenly, chops weeds and spreads dung, so the grassland regrows uniformly.
What is the difference between V-belt and gear drive?
V-belt drive with automatic tensioning protects the machine and gives high blade speed. Gear drive suits heavier, more intensive use, for example on the LK series.
Why top pasture at all?
Topping prevents thistles and other unpalatable plants from spreading, improves grass intake by livestock and gives even regrowth across the field.
Which PERFECT topper should I choose?
The LB series is the standard topper for livestock farms. Choose the LK series for heavy work and the SV2-275 when you want a large offset.
